Professors Chrisanthi Avgerou and Irini Moustaki among six LSE academics elected as British Academy Fellows

The Hellenic Observatory - Centre for Research on Contemporary Greece and Cyprus is delighted to share the news that Chrisanthi Avgerou and Irini Moustaki have been elected as Fellows of the British Academy.

Professors Avgerou and Moustaki are both affiliates of the Hellenic Observatory, with Professor Avgerou serving as a member of the Centre's Advisory Board.

Chrisanthi Avgerou and Irini Moustaki join LSE academics Nick Couldry, Ian Gough, Tomila Lankina and Gilat Levy as part of 92 newly-elected Fellows, comprising 58 new Fellows from 25 universities across the United Kingdom.

Chrisanthi Avgerou, Professor of Information Systems, is an expert on the relationship of ICT to organisational change and the role of ICT in socio-economic development. She is also a Fellow of the British Computer Society and Fellow of the Association for Information Systems.

Irini Moustaki, Professor in Social Statistics, works on the development of statistical methodology for analysing large and complex data sets, with a particular interest in latent variable modelling for categorical and mixed outcomes, structural equation modelling, estimation methods, goodness-of-fit testing, detection of outliers and treatment of missing values and drop out in longitudinal studies. Her areas of application are in social sciences, education, psychiatry and health.
