IR welcome week timetable

There will be Orientation Meetings for each programme with the IR Department that take place on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 September 2017.  Here you will meet the Programme Directors for the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

  • MSc IR:

  • MSc IPE (International Political Economy)/MSc IPE Research:

  • SPDD (Sciences Po-LSE Double Degree in Affaires Internationales and IR/IPE): Thurs 21 Sept 09.00-09.30, New Academic Building, Room 1.15
    DD students should also attend the MSc IR or MSc IPE meetings above, depending on their choice of programme.

    Dr David Hendry will give a short talk about available courses, workshops and other support that the Methodology Department provide.

There will also be an IR Start-of-Session Undergraduate Party on Monday 25 September 2017 and an IR Start-of-Session Postgraduate Party on Thursday 28 September 2017, both from 18.00-20.00.  You will be notified of venue details.

It is important to attend your orientation meeting as the structure of your course and administrative arrangements will be explained at this time. BSc, GC and some MSc appointments with Academic Advisers will be scheduled for the afternoon of Thursday 21 September and for Friday 22 September 2017, so we would be grateful if you could keep your diary free on those days.     If your Academic Adviser is unable to meet with you on the Thursday or Friday, they will contact you directly to make alternative arrangements.

LSE welcome presentations and activities

LSE Welcome presentations are compulsory for all new students. Please see the Welcome Presentations for full details of date, time and location.

LSE Life

LSE LIFE is the School's centre for academic, personal, and professional development. It is the place to come for all undergraduate and taught master's students for support, guidance, and ideas about how to succeed in your studies and extend your learning and discovery outside the classroom. 

LSE LIFE has an in-house team of specialist study advisers, on-hand to help Monday to Friday, 10:00-19:00 and Saturday, 10:00-18:00. You will also find research specialists from the Library, English-language experts from the Language Centre, and career advisers from LSE Careers at certain times of the week. 

It also has a full calendar of events every week.

Guide to Welcome Week 2017

In addition to a list of Welcome Week events, the Welcome Guide has been expanded in collaboration with a number of services across campus, including comprehensive ‘how to’ guides for settling in during the first week.The guide will also be made available in hardcopy format in a variety of locations for new students to collect upon arrival.

Check out the LSE Alumni where you can connect with LSE alumni throughout your time as a student at LSE.  Students can connect with the lifelong global network of over 136,000 members in almost 200 countries. There are 80+ regional and 10+ special interest alumni groups, an Alumni Professional Mentoring Network, and some events that may be opened to students. You can check upcoming alumni events and use the alumni mentoring network.
