What's the secret to happiness?

happiness-700x520

In the September episode of the #LSEIQ podcast we ask, ‘What’s the secret to happiness?’.

Western societies have been getting steadily richer for several decades, but social scientists have shown that we are no happier for it. In fact we now have more depression, more alcoholism and more crime. Why does happiness elude so many of us and what can we do about it? Helping to tackle the question are Paul Dolan, Professor of Behavioural Studies at LSE, Professor Lord Richard Layard of LSE’s Centre for Economic Performance, and Liz Zeidler, founder and chief executive of the Happy City Initiative.

Each episode of LSE IQ sees a range of LSE academics, and other experts, line up to give their perspective on one timely question. For all episodes of LSE IQ, and to subscribe on iTunes and SoundCloud, please visit lse.ac.uk/iq or search for 'LSE IQ' in your favourite podcast app.
