The Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) was established at LSE in 2006 and is one of 29 Confucius Institutes in the UK. The Institute aims to promote Chinese for business to the local community and foster greater understanding of Chinese language and business culture.

Tailor-made executive Chinese programmes
The Confucius Institute for Business London offers tailor-made courses for professionals and executives in the business community and those preparing for a longer stay in China.
Chinese proficiency test (HSK)
CIBL is an official HSK test centre in the UK for the HSK Department, National Office for Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (Hanban). We also offer preparation courses and mock tests for those who are studying for their HSK exams.
Annual Business Chinese Teacher Training Programme
The training course that can shape your career as a Mandarin teacher. Every year CIBL runs this teacher training programme and this year it will be held from 19 - 21 September on the LSE campus
LSE students and staff
The CIBL runs a number of Chinese business courses for both LSE students and faculty at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
The CIBL can assist students with applying for scholarships to support their study. Scholarships are currently available for those who wish to study Chinese language in China. We offer support and guidance in applying for the following scholarships:
