About us

Confucius Institute for Business London

Who we are and what we do

The Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) is a partnership between LSE, Tsinghua University and Hanban (Ministry of Education). It was launched in 2006 with five sponsoring companies: HSBC, BP, Deloitte, Swire and Standard Chartered. With a strong focus on business communication, CIBL specialises in helping London business communities to learn Mandarin and foster greater understanding of the business culture in China. Alongside delivering business Chinese classes, we also host a number of events to promote wider Chinese culture - most of which are open to the general public.

In the best traditions of academic exchange, LSE and Tsinghua have built a relationship that is open and transparent to enable valuable discussions on a range of issues facing China today.

What our students say about us

We celebrate the success and friendships of CIBL with a reception at the House of Lords every year during the Spring Festival. Hear what our Chinese Language & Culture for Business (CLCB) executive students have to say about studying with us!
