In this session, you'll have the chance to meet alumni working in the fields of data, tech and digital innovation. You can ask the alumni about their day-to-day job, how they got into their role, and for any other career-related advice or tips they’ve picked up from their career journey so far.

This event will be particularly useful if you are:

  • thinking about the realities of a career in this area or a related sector
  • curious about the sort of work and responsibilities jobs in this area can entail
  • interested in finding out how utilising the experience of studying at LSE can be used to get ahead in this area
  • keen to build your connections

Meet the Speakers:

Rob Willoughby (LinkedIn). Rob was part of the General Course in 2013-14 and is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer at Google DeepMind.

Darcy Gleeson (LinkedIn).  Darcy Gleeson is an Irish-American originally from Louisville, Kentucky with 5+ years of experience in consulting and product management, specialising in enterprise digital health and wellness. After attending LSE's General Course in 2018-19, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.A. in International Relations and Global Business. After 4 years at IBM in London as a Managing Consultant, she recently moved to Holland & Barrett to support the 150+ year old retailer's digital transformation. As a Senior Product Manager in the Business & Science team, she focuses on data-driven strategic planning and development of consumer-facing digital wellness solutions. Outside of work, Darcy volunteers as a Primary School Governor, and mentors students and early professionals. She was shortlisted for the WeAreTheCity Women in Tech Digital Rising Star of the Year 2023 for her mentorship and achievements.
