Meet an Alum sessions are informal opportunities to build your industry knowledge and make connections with General Course alumni.
In this session, you'll have the chance to meet alumni who have had a role in building successful start-ups or small businesses. You can ask the alumni about their day-to-day job, how they got started, and for any other career-related advice or tips they’ve picked up from their journey so far.
This event will be particularly useful if you are:
- thinking about the realities of setting up your own business or working for a start-up
- curious about the sort of work and responsibilities jobs in this area can entail
- interested in finding out how utilising the experience of studying at LSE can be used to get ahead in this area
- keen to build your connections
Meet the Speakers:
Orane Stepczynski (LinkedIn). Orane joined LSE from HEC Lausanne to study on the General Course in 2016-17. After graduating Orane joined the Product Marketing Team in luxury Swiss Watch brand Jaeger-LeCoultre (part of the Richemont group). She later built on her expertise in the sector by becoming a Product Marketing Specilaist (Watches) at Bulgari Jewelry (part of the LVMH group). At the end of 2020, she joined the Swiss-based Food Tech start-up Foodetective, whose mission is to develop a unified API for the restaurant industry, as Global Wholesale Manager. She is also the co-founder of the LSE Alumni chapter in Lausanne and part of the Geneva Alumni committee in Switzerland.
Zoha Naqvi (LinkedIn). Zoha joined LSE from Clark University to study on the General Course in 2014-2015. Since graduating, Zoha has been running her own business called Zo'Nanos, an organic haircare line that reimagines traditional beauty remedies in modern ways. Having started off from her own parents' basement, Zoha developed every element of the product and business herself, learning new skills and techniques along the way. Today, Zo'Nanos is one of the fastest growing brands of its kind in Pakistan and is sold across the country.
We will continue to confirm alumni for this event.

LSE holds a wide range of events, covering many of the most controversial issues of the day, and speakers at our events may express views that cause offence. The views expressed by speakers at LSE events do not reflect the position or views of The London School of Economics and Political Science.
From time to time there are changes to event details so we strongly recommend checking back on this listing on the day of the event if you plan to attend.
