The programme provides funding for Brazilian students to study a taught master's programme at LSE. Only students enrolled on the following programmes at LSE are eligible for the award: 

• All 9–12 month postgraduate taught degrees. 
• The two-year Master of Public Administration (MPA) offered by the School of Public Policy. 

Please note: all other two-year programmes [for example, the Global Master’s in Management, MSc Economics (two-year programme), and dual degrees with external partners] are ineligible for this funding. 

Instituto Trajetórias offers a blended financial package of scholarships and credit loans to support Brazilian postgraduate students attending recognised partner universities worldwide. 

• Scholarships are funded by a range of partners, including state governments and universities. Eligibility criteria and award amounts vary.  
• Credit loans help students bridge financial gaps related to studying abroad and may be used to cover tuition fees and living expenses. The maximum loan award is $30,000 (USD).

In addition, some students may qualify for complementary benefits to support their studies. For example, public servants (subject to the discretion of their state government) may be eligible for paid study leave to undertake a one-year master’s programme related to their professional field. 

LSE offers a 30% conttribution to the tuition fee for Instituto Trajetórias beneficaries. It does not matter whether the student is awarded an Instituto Trajetórias scholarship, credit loan, or both: all benefecaries are eligble for the LSE contribution.

A minimum of 25 scholars are funded through the programme annually.

Applications to the Instituto Trajetórias – LSE Graduate Funding Programme are made directly to Instituto Trajetórias. 

Applications are expected to open in February 2026. Students may apply for Instituto Trajetórias funding before receiving an offer to study at LSE, but as part of their application they must demonstrate that they have at least begun an application for an eligible master's programme. 

To be considered for the programme, applicants must hold an unconditional offer from LSE by 20 April 2026. 

To ensure that all deadlines are met, students are strongly encouraged to: 

• Apply to LSE early in the application cycle; and 
• Meet all entry requirements, including English language requirements, as soon as possible. 

The list of students nominated for funding by Instituto Trajetórias will be shared with LSE in the summer. The LSE Financial Support Office will then process nominations and apply the fee scholarship directly to the offer holders’ tuition fee invoice. Please note that this process may take a few weeks after nominations are confirmed.
