Lift upgrade
Between October 2022 and March 2023, LSE will undertake essential maintenance repairs to the lifts. During this period, there will be a reduced lift service. LSE will be working with contractors to ensure maximum possible lift service available at any given time.
During these works, residents may notice some minor noise disruption and see contractors in the hall. Working hours when noise mayb be heard will be between 10am and 5pm, and every care will be taken to ensure that disruption is minimised. It is not planned for work to take place at weekends or outside stated hours, however, this website will be updated and residents will be notified if this becomes necessary.

From June 2023, the following essential upgrade projects will take place at High Holborn Hall of Residence:
- Reception Upgrade: Complete upgrade including public foyer, Reception and the back office. This will deliver a modern Reception facility for guests and residents.
- Accessible Room Refurbishments: Complete refurbishment of 2 flats (1 on the mezzanine level and 1 on the first floor) to provide improved and flexible accessible accomodation for our guests.
The Reception Upgrade is expected to be completed by September 2023. The Accessible Room Refurbishments are expected to be completed in autumn/winter 2023.
LSE and our Contractor will work to minimise the impacts on guests, however, some disruption is expected due to the nature of the projects. For both projects mentioned above, there will be some noise in the adjacent flats while work takes place and construction workers will be visible in the hall. Working hours are generally 8am to 5pm, with noisy working (e.g. drilling etc) only permitted between the hours of 10am and 4pm to reduce the disruption as far as possible.

During the summer, we will carry out essential WC improvements. The work will commence after 17 June 2023 and will last for approximately 2 weeks. During this time, some of the WC and shower facilities on Level 2 will be unavailable. Guests will be able to use other WC and shower facilities located on Level 2 or on other floors. Where noisy work is required this will be restricted to between the hours of 10am and 4:30pm. We apologise for any inconvenience caused while we undertake this essential improvement work to our facilities.

Between October 2023 and December 2023, Unite will undertake essential maintenance refurbishment to the lifts in two blocks. During this period, there will be no lift service in the affected blocks. This page will be updated with more details about these works in due course.
