Upcoming Student Events and Workshops

 

We host a range of events for our students, including study skills workshops, social events and careers events, and a wide range of interesting and topical public events.

Social and creative events

In the Department of Sociology, we value the power of community, which is why we host a series of social events for our students every term. This gives you the chance to take time out from your busy schedules, interact with fellow students and build meaningful connections. Below are some examples of events we hosted in the 2024/25 academic year:

1. Wellbeing sports sessions in collaboration with the SU - yoga, badminton, ultimate frisbee and much more!
2. BSc and MSc board games night
3. Paint-a-pot social with snacks!
4. Paint-a-canvas social with pizza!
5. Sip and Study: a co-working study session
6. Sociology book swap
7. Sociology pub quiz
8. Sociology spring picnic
9. Collage and Craft: an arts based mindfulness social
10. Sociology movie afternoon
11. Tote bag painting event
12. End of term parties!
13. End of academic year boat party!
14. Welcome back lunches and pizza socials

Study Skills Workshops in collaboration with LSE LIFE for BSc first year students

These workshops run in the Autumn term, and are available to first year BSc Sociology students only. Please check your email for further details including times and location.

We work closely with LSE Careers to offer a range of careers events, including:

LSE Sociology Department Conference

We host an annual Department of Sociology Conference which aims to enhance the department’s research culture and strengthen a sense of community among its members.
