Call for Nominations: SEAC Postgraduate Dissertation Prize 2025

We are pleased to invite nominations for the SEAC Postgraduate Dissertation Prize 2025, which recognises outstanding postgraduate research on Southeast Asia. Submissions will be welcomed until Friday 17 October 2025.

Eligibility

• Dissertations must have been submitted as part of a taught postgraduate degree (MA/MSc/MPhil) in the 2024/25 academic year.
• Undergraduate dissertations are not eligible.
• Dissertations must clearly relate to the Southeast Asia region and address any aspects of social scientific understanding of Southeast Asian affairs.

Submission Guidelines

• Nominations must come directly from departments (students cannot self-nominate).
• Please email submissions to seac.admin@lse.ac.uk with the subject heading “SEAC PG Dissertation Prize Nomination”.
• Attach the dissertation as a Word document or PDF.
• In the body of the email, please include:
  • Student’s name, degree title, and email address
  • Internally agreed grade (even if provisional)
  • Internal marker comments
  • Only dissertations awarded a distinction / first-class or equivalent will be considered.
  • All submissions will be fully anonymised by SEAC prior to review.

Review Process

Dissertations will be reviewed independently by an academic judging panel, with assessment based on alignment with SEAC’s research themes, as well as research quality, originality, and contribution.
