What do you enjoy most about your programme and studying Philosophy at LSE?

I enjoy the content itself, and the environment of the classes and lectures. The lectures are interactive and engaging, which makes the learning more enjoyable. I particularly enjoyed the introduction of Nietzsche in an introductory course.

What stands out to you most about the Philosophy Department?

How has studying Philosophy at LSE shaped the way you think or approach the world?

I’ve found that I have applied concepts, especially formal logic, when dissecting arguments. This has also led me to further think about how foundational premises affect actions we take in the world.

Why would you recommend studying at LSE Philosophy?

The autonomy and freedom to follow my curiosity as I please. The programme allows you to explore connections between different areas of philosophy and pursue your own philosophical interests.

What advice would you give to someone considering studying Philosophy at LSE?

While advice is always contextual, what I can say is if you’re thinking of studying Philosophy at LSE, I would say read into the story of the Department and its origins, as you’ll probably find it interesting. Other than that, I’d say understand the courses well beforehand so you know what you’re getting yourself into.
