Mr. Lee is Managing Director and Head of International Banking. He is responsible for CIBC’s business and operations in the Europe and Asia Pacific Regions, with offices in London, Hong Kong, Luxembourg, Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Beijing, and Shanghai. Additionally, Mr. Lee has oversight for CIBC Caribbean, a relationship bank operating in 10 markets around the Caribbean.
Mr. Lee joined CIBC in 2001 and has held increasingly senior and international positions. His previous roles at CIBC included Head of Europe & Asia Pacific and Chief Financial Officer of Capital Markets. Mr. Lee is very active in the international business community. He is elected President of the Canada-UK Chamber of Commerce, Council Member of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Member of the International Markets Steering Board of the City of London, and Member of the Governors’ Council of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.
Mr. Lee is passionate about education, gender equality, and inclusion within the finance industry and currently serves as Director on the Global Board of 100 Women in Finance. He previously served on the Regional Advisory Board of McGill University. Mr. Lee received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst. He has lived and worked in Toronto, New York, Hong Kong, and are now based in London with his wife and their teenage daughter.
