With a background degree in Classical Languages-Latin, an MA in Spanish Teacher Training, an MA in Lexicography, and a European PhD in Applied Discourse Analysis (2015), Roser worked as a Spanish Lecturer in Discourse Analysis teaching undergraduate students at UPF (Universidad Pompeu Fabra - Faculty of Translation and Interpretation) in Barcelona for many years.
Roser also taught many courses and workshops in Methodology and Pedagogical Grammar for Spanish teachers in higher education in Spain (ESADE, University of Barcelona, University of Salamanca, amongst others).
Upon arrival in London, Roser worked at the King’s College London MLC teaching undergraduate subjects such as Linguistics, Power of Language and Spanish for Medics.
Roser joined LSE in 2007 and currently teaches Spanish Language and Society undergraduate degree options as well as non-degree courses. She was part of the Spanish in Motion/LSE Language Centre project alongside Lourdes Hernández and Rafael Peñas.
She has published several books (e.g. "Conectando texto: guía para el uso efectivo de elementos conectores en castellano" – Linking text: a guide to effectively use linking words in Spanish - and numerous articles on (academic) writing, hedging and linking words (e.g. Reformulation discourse markers in Spanish, Archiletras, 2020).
Her interest in pastoral care has led her to train in different therapeutic approaches in Psychology since 2016 to support students’ motivation and enhance their learning, performance, and confidence.
