About

James Turek is a Research Assistant at the Hellenic Observatory at LSE conducting research under the supervision of Professor Vassilis Monastiriotis. He primarily uses Python and R to measure micro-economic activity before and after exogenous shocks affect the neighborhoods of Athens.

He is obtaining his MSc in Geographic Data Science from LSE.

In his spare time, James likes to stay active by playing football and softball. He’s also a dog lover and volunteers his time at Paws and Pause to help people affected by mental health crises connect with dogs. A life-long baseball fan as well, he loves to experiment with sabermetrics and statistics to unlock interesting insights into how his White Sox are performing.
