Florian is a PhD Candidate at the LSE Law School. His research interests lie in the fields of public law, constitutional theory, comparative constitutional law, EU law, international law, and jurisprudence. His doctoral thesis aims to develop a theory for a desirable level of specificity in constitutional text.
Prior to joining the LSE, Florian studied and researched in Germany, the Netherlands and the United States. He has worked for several professors specializing in the field of public law, constitutional law, EU law, and international law. During his doctoral studies, he has visited the law schools of the University of Sao Paulo and the University of Chicago for fellowships and research. He was also a visiting researcher at Harvard Law School for the Spring term of 2026. At LSE he teaches European Union Law.
Florian holds a law degree in Germany (state exam) for which he studied at the University of Bielefeld and the University of Freiburg, as well as an LL.M. from NYU.
