PhD candidate in Environmental Economics
About

About

Elina is a PhD student in Environmental Economics at the London School of Economics and Political Science (since 2025). Her research explores the intersection of climate and finance, with a particular focus on the role of states and state-owned institutions in financing the green transition. More broadly, she is interested in the interaction between fiscal and monetary policies and climate-related issues.

Trained as both an economist and a political scientist, Elina uses a wide range of methods — from classical quantitative and qualitative approaches to computational techniques. She holds an MPhil in Politics from the University of Oxford and a BA in Philosophy & Economics from the University of Bayreuth.

Beyond academia, Elina enjoys running, cooking, bouldering, and reading.
