About
Elene Panchulidze is a PhD candidate in the Department of International Relations at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Her research explores the relevance and transformative potential of feminist foreign policies within the context of increasingly securitised geopolitics.
Working at the intersection of academia and policy, Elene has extensive experience in EU foreign policy, international democracy assistance, and civil society capacity-building. She currently leads the European Democracy Hub in Brussels — a joint initiative of the European Partnership for Democracy and Carnegie Europe — where she oversees research and provides policy advice to the European Commission, European governments and international donors on strengthening democracy support strategies.
Her work has been published in the Journal of Democracy, Survival, Democratization, and Caucasus Survey, among others. Elene has also delivered high-level training on feminist foreign policy for senior diplomats, as well as on democracy and security for NATO military personnel.
She holds an MA in EU Diplomacy and International Politics from the College of Europe (Bruges) and a BA in International Relations from Tbilisi State University.
