Dr Dalila Villella

Dalila Villella has been teaching French at LSE since summer 2026. Before joining LSE, she worked at other universities, most recently at Université Grenoble Alpes (INSPE), where she taught courses in the didactics of French and English.

In January 2023, she earned a PhD in French Literature from Birkbeck, University of London. Her research interests focus primarily on the relationship between literature and politics, the interplay between fiction and reality, and the didactics of literature and modern languages. In her thesis, entitled Rhizomatic Poetry: A Form of Political Engagement in 21st-Century France, she analyses contemporary French poetry from a Deleuzo–Guattarian perspective in order to explore its political significance and its role in anti-capitalist struggles. She has published articles on French and Francophone literature and has participated in conferences at which she presented her research on contemporary poetry and the didactics of literature.
