Exploring the Correlation between Motivational Drivers, Critical Digital Literacy, and Educational Outcomes in Digital Inequalities: A Case Study of Chinese Education

Cong is a PhD researcher who specializes in the questions of socio-digital inequalities in education. She is interested in the unequal impacts of the usage of educational technology, as well as how to use technology to achieve positive outcomes and avoid negative outcomes. Focusing on the context of China, her PhD thesis explores 1) how the motivational drivers, critical digital literacy and psychological well-being outcomes are distributed differently among students with different socioeconomic and demographic backgrounds, 2) What are the correlations between motivational drivers, critical digital literacy and psychological well-being outcomes?

Biography
Cong has an interdisciplinary background in social sciences. Before starting her PhD journey, she completed a BA (Hons) degree in education from Southwest Jiaotong University in 2022, a MSc degree in Inequalities and Social Science (Department of Sociology at LSE) 2022-2023, and a MSc education (digital and social change) (Department of Education at the Oxford University) 2023-2024.
She has several research assistant/associate experience working with professors globally (e.g. Oxford, LSE, Nanyang Technological University, Peking University) in interdisciplinary fields. Besides academia, she is passionate about building language (culture), sports and arts communities!
