Andrea is a Research Fellow in Health Economics at the Centre for Health Economics (CHE) at the University of York.
Her research is primarily situated at the intersection of applied micro econometrics and welfare economics, with a particular focus on the causal evaluation of health and social care policies.
Andrea has concentrated on evaluating the causal effects of public expenditure on adult social care in England, and currently she explores the empirical dynamics of pharmaceutical innovation. Her broader research portfolio encompasses the measurement of health inequalities and inequities, the efficiency and quality of health service provision, and the management capacity of healthcare organizations. She is also recognized for her work on the performance of community-based organizations and the micro-costing of health interventions.
Beyond her primary research, Andrea is an advocate for open science, promoting practices that enhance transparency and reproducibility within the field of health economics. She is also the co-editor of the Spanish Health Economics Blog.
Andrea holds a PhD in Economics from the Department of Economics and Related Studies at the University of York.
