
About
Ailbhe Cannon is a first-year PhD candidate in the Department of International Relations at LSE. Her work falls within the field of security studies, with a focus on gender and international security. Her doctoral research examines women’s peacebuilding and anti-war activism in the context of the Russo-Ukrainian war, and the varied forms – violent and non-violent – of women’s resistance to Russian imperialism. Ailbhe holds a BA in European Studies from Trinity College Dublin and an MA from the College of Europe.
Before joining LSE, Ailbhe was a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Political Science at Trinity College Dublin for the 2024-2025 academic year, where she was the lecturer for three undergraduate modules covering topics ranging from Irish politics to international conflict and cooperation.
