LSE has achieved another strong set of results in the 2026 National Student Survey, recording improvements across almost all measures. The School placed top of the London Russell Group for Assessment and Feedback, Academic Support and Organisation and Management.

In seven academic categories LSE saw increased satisfaction scores across six areas and remained stable in the seventh category compared with 2025 results, with particularly strong improvements in Assessment and Feedback, Learning Opportunities and Teaching on my Course. LSE's performance across the seven academic categories placed it fifth within 24 Russell Group Universities.

Compared with the sector overall, LSE performed especially strongly in Organisation and Management, Academic Support and Teaching on my Course, reflecting the School's continued focus on delivering an outstanding educational experience.

Commenting on the National Student Survey, Vice President and Pro-Vice Chancellor of Education, Professor Emma McCoy, said: "These excellent results reflect LSE colleagues' continued commitment to supporting and enhancing education and student experience. Our scores in the seven academic categories, including teaching on my course, assessment and feedback, academic support, place us 5th in the whole Russell Group, and we saw increases in all but one category, which has held steady.

"We have also seen improvements in all of our focus areas, including Assessment and Feedback and Mental Wellbeing Services, the result of colleagues' hard work in departments and across the School to develop and strengthen these areas.

"We'll use the insights our students have shared to continue to build on these fantastic achievements."

The NSS is an independent survey that gathers final year undergraduate students' opinions on the quality of their course and their experience during their studies. Over 360,000 final year higher education students in the UK took part in the NSS in 2026, approximately 71.8 per cent of eligible students. Find out more about the survey.

The NSS results reflect LSE's strong showing in major league tables. The School was ranked top in the UK by the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide in 2026 and number one in London by the Guardian University Guide 2026.
