Sunwoo's current research interests focus on the intersection of the climate crisis and labour markets, as well as gender issues in employment. Her work examines just transition in the context of climate crisis responses, specifically analysing how Korea's labour market structure and labour market stakeholders shape these transitions. She is currently investigating the impact of Korea's carbon neutrality policies on industrial relations, with a focus on how just transition is being implemented within Korea's existing labour market structure.
Before joining LSE, Sunwoo attained a BBA from Gachon University, and an MSc in Management from Korea University. She was awarded several scholarships for her BBA and MSc programmes.
Sunwoo worked as research assistant at both schools and the Korea Labor Institute (KLI). She participated in several research projects including research for Hyundai Motor Company and Ministry of Employment and Labor of the Republic of Korea. She also has work experience in HR in the fashion industry.
