How to apply
Applications for LSE Law School Short Courses are made online via our application form. Each course page provides full details on content, format, dates, fees and entry requirements, along with a link to the online application form.
Places are limited to ensure an interactive learning environment. Early application is recommended.

Short Courses are primarily designed for legal professionals and practitioners. Some courses may also be suitable for policymakers, regulators or advanced students with relevant experience.

Registration
- Before registering, please ensure you can attend all course dates, as our terms and conditions will apply.
Confirmation
- Your place on the course will only be confirmed when full payment has been received.
Deadlines
- Each Short Course page lists its own deadline
- Places are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis
Recordings
- Sessions are only recorded if everyone attending the course agrees.
Fees and discounts
- Fees are listed on each course page
- Discounts are only available if stated, though some courses offer an early-booking saving.
Payment
- You can pay by invoice or credit/debit card
- Card payments are the quickest method to confirm your place
What’s included
- All teaching materials and completion certificate
- On-campus attendance: usually a luncheon voucher for a two-course meal with tea or coffee. A table is reserved in the LSE Senior Dining Room offering an excellent opportunity to relax, network and connect with other participants
Course information
- Course details and materials will be sent one week before the start date.
- Attendance online: a Zoom link and course materials will be shared with you in advance.
- On-campus participants: course days typically run between 10am – 5pm with morning and afternoon breaks and a one-hour lunch.
Accommodation and food
- Accommodation is not included in the course fee, but LSE’s central location means there are many nearby hotels to suit a range of budgets and preferences. Please see the Local Information weblink for further details.

Visas
- Executive programmes can be taken on a standard visitor visa.

- Once your course fee is paid, we can provide an attendance letter to support your visa application.
Courses on-campus
- All courses take place on the LSE campus.
Getting to LSE
- LSE is located in central London and is easy to reach from major airports and train stations. For further information use Travelling to LSE weblink.
LSE Cancellation
- In exceptional circumstances, we may need to cancel or postpone a course. If this happens, we will provide as much notice as possible and you will be able to transfer to another course or receive a full refund.
If you need to cancel
- 2- 4 weeks before the course: 50% of the fee is retained
- Less than 2 weeks before: 100% of the fee is retained
If written notice is not received and you do not attend, the full course fee will be retained as a cancellation charge.
