Jakub Bokes is a PhD candidate at LSE Law School. He holds an LLB (First Class Honours) from LSE and a BCL (Distinction) from the University of Oxford. He has won several academic awards and scholarships. 

Jakub’s research is funded by an LSE PhD Studentship. His doctoral thesis seeks to better understand the historical relationship between environmental law and capitalism. In his work, Jakub draws on insights from Marxism, Critical Legal Studies (CLS) and the Law and Political Economy (LPE) movement and applies them to the study of environmental law.
