Dr Luke McDonagh completes term as Pierre Lalive and John Henry Merryman Award Fellow

Dr Luke McDonagh has completed the Pierre Lalive & John Henry Merryman Fellowship in Art and Cultural Heritage Law at the Art-Law Centre of the University of Geneva. Dr McDonagh made two research visits as Lalive and Merryman Fellow – the first in September 2024 and the final visiting period took place over two weeks in Feb-March 2025. 

The Fellowship is awarded annually to a scholar for the best article published in the International Journal of Cultural Property in the preceding calendar year. Dr McDonagh’s award was granted for the article, 'Exploring “ownership” of Irish traditional dance music: Heritage or Property?' published in 2022.
