Congratulations to Dr Tim Liau and Dr Rachel Leow whose books have both been longlisted for the Inner Temple Book Prize, a triennial competition offering major prizes for outstanding authorship. Inaugurated in 2008, the Prize attracts entries from every part of the globe, and has already become one of most prestigious awards for legal authors.

Two prizes are offered: the Main Prize and the New Author’s Prize. Four books were longlisted for the New Author’s Prize, of which two were written by Liau and Leow:

Timothy Liau, Standing in Private Law (OUP 2023)

Rachel Leow, Corporate Attribution in Private Law (Hart 2022)

The shortlist for the main prize is here; the shortlist for the New Author Prize will not be advertised. The criterion to be applied in deciding on the award of the prizes is the extent to which the book makes an outstanding scholarly contribution to the understanding of the law as administered in England and Wales. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 2 December 2025.
