LSE Law School and LSE School of Public Policy welcome Professor Lea Ypi as Ralph Miliband Professor of Politics and Philosophy

LSE Law School and the LSE School of Public Policy congratulate Professor Lea Ypi (FBA, FAE) on her appointment as Ralph Miliband Professor of Politics and Philosophy, a joint position between the two schools. 

Professor Ypi is a leading political theorist whose work spans political philosophy, the history of ideas, and normative questions of global justice, migration, and democracy. She is the author of Indignity: A Life Reimagined and Free: Coming of Age at the End of History, as well as several scholarly monographs. Her writing has been translated into more than thirty-five languages and has received numerous awards, including the Royal Society of Literature Ondaatje Prize, the Slightly Foxed First Biography Award, and the British Academy Prize for Excellence in Political Science. 

The School of Public Policy is delighted by this joint appointment with the Law School. Lea is not only an accomplished research scholar. She is also an influential public intellectual and a hugely talented novelist and memoirist. We are honoured to have Lea join our global SPP community, where ideas and practice meet.”
