Martin Husovec, Associate Professor of Law, coordinated two open letters signed by more than 30 scholars — including LSE Law School’s Dean, Professor Andrew Murray — addressing misconceptions about the EU’s Digital Services Act (DSA) and alleged censorship risks. The letters clarify how the DSA’s risk management framework, trusted flaggers, and dispute resolution mechanisms are designed to strengthen transparency, accountability, and fundamental rights.

The initiative received significant attention: the U.S. House Judiciary Committee mentioned the letter during its hearing on “Europe’s Threat to American Speech and Innovation,” formally entered it into the record, and major outlets such as Politico and the Financial Times reported on it.
