Visiting Professor, Jonathan Fisher QC, was recently quoted in a Washington Post article discussing whether the London properties of Russian oligarchs might be confiscated. He noted that there was as growing willingness amongst judges to contemplate an erosion of property rights, as long as it was proportionate: "We have seen a number of cases where confiscation has been upheld in financial crime."
