Life at KIMEP University

Over the last two years, KIMEP has been named the top university for humanities and economics in Kazakhstan. It offers a variety of reputable Russian language programmes for academic purposes.

Study during your year abroad

Students will stay at KIMEP for two semesters, taking the following courses.

In the Fall semester

  • Intensive Russian - B1 level (4 contact hours per week)
  • Speaking Practice - B1 level (2 contact hours per week)

In the Spring semester

  • Intensive Russian - B2 level (4 contact hours per week)
  • Speaking Practice - B2 level (2 contact hours per week)
  • Students will also conduct data collection for a research project on socio-cultural issues in the target language society.

Each module runs for 15 weeks across each semester.

In addition, students can take a variety of modules in social sciences; additional tuition fees will be applied.

Please remember this important information from your programme regulations:

Students must pass all assessments set by KIMEP University in order to be eligible for the award of the degree.

Where a student fails an assessment they will be provided a resit either at KIMEP University at the end of the year abroad or when they are back in London at the start of the final year of the programme.
