Fang Pan has a Masters Degree in Chinese Language Pedagogy. He is an experienced teacher of Mandarin in different settings. Before joining LSE, he taught all levels of Chinese at Harvard University and won Teaching Distinction Certificates in three consecutive years.

He has experience in teaching a wide range of Mandarin courses in different settings, including pre-school classes, high school summer programmes and university intensive programmes. At LSE, he teaches degree as well as non degree courses. In addition to in-class teaching he is one of the writers of the book Cases on Audio-Visual Media in Language Education. Currently, he is writing a language textbook on teaching specific Chinese in International Relations. He has attended and presented at several regional and international language conferences. His past presentation topics include video projects, grammar teaching, essay writing and curriculum design.

He is involved in teaching on the following undergraduate degree programmes, BSc International Relations and Chinese and BSc Language, Culture and Society.
