About me

Álvaro is a PhD candidate in Environmental Economics. His main research area focuses on macroeconomic modelling of the green transition using general equilibrium models. Álvaro’s research aims at contributing to the economic literature that seeks to integrate the climate-economy module into the mainstream macroeconomic models. The objective is to showcase the benefits and challenges stemming from a green transition.

Prior to joining the Department, Álvaro held an analyst position at Vivid Economics, where he worked in the development of models to unpack the impact of, amongst other, emerging agri-food technologies in the UK, or public investment in Colombia. He holds an M.Sc. in Economics (with Distinction) from UCL, as well as a Joint International B.Sc. in Economics (Distinction) from the Universities of València and Nantes.
