Galliard Ensemble and Simon Callaghan (piano)

Currently in its 24^th year, the Galliard Ensemble is one of Britain’s leading chamber groups. Simon Callaghan, praised for his ‘velvet-gloved pianism of ravishing sensitivity', performs internationally both as a soloist and chamber musician.

The Galliard Ensemble (@galliardens) has performed in several of the world’s leading venues and festivals, including Wigmore Hall, the South Bank Centre, Bridgewater Hall, Sage Gateshead and at the BBC Proms. They have also worked closely with many leading contemporary composers, including György Ligeti and Sir Harrison Birtwistle, which lead to their award-winning CD of Birtwistle’s chamber music for winds.

Callaghan has performed at a number of the UK’s major concert halls including Wigmore Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, St David’s Hall Cardiff and Manchester’s Bridgewater and Stoller Halls.
