Black Atlantic: power, people, resistance exhibition
The exhibition, which was first shown at the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge, reveals the stories that have been silenced from history, not just stories of exploitation, but those of resilience and liberation, too. It shows how through resisting colonial slavery, people produced new cultures known as the Black Atlantic, that continue to shape our world.
This exhibition was funded by the LSE Knowledge Exchange and Impact Fund and was curated by Jake Subryan Richards from LSE and Victoria Avery from the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge.

Red alert on democracy: photographing protests and civil resistance in Israel before and after October 7
This exhibition displayed selected photographs from a body of work by the Photographers’ and Drone Squadron (HaSayeret), a collective of volunteer photographers committed to documenting Israel’s ongoing pro-democracy protests. It showcases also a range of artefacts that were used and displayed during the protests. These artefacts and powerful images document the breadth of Israeli civic resistance and reflect the passion and urgency of a grassroots struggle to uphold the principles of Israel’s Declaration of Independence—human dignity, equality, and the rule of law.
The exhibition was hosted by the Department of International History.
