Hannah is Research Officer within CPEC. She is a qualitative researcher interested in the social and political organisation of health and social care, including the relationship between policy, organisational practice, and people’s experiences. She is also interested in power, the professions and ethical decision making within this context.
Empirically, she has worked on projects relating to integrated health and social care, research-practice partnerships, social care “practitioner-researchers”, evidence use within social care, and new technologies. She enjoys applying sociological and organisational theories to practice issues and has applied and extended Foucauldian theories of governmentality and pastoral power to understand health and social care organisation and policy.
Hannah is committed to using research findings to produce practical insights and tools for those working in practice. She has been involved in developing a learning and development tool, a policy briefing, blog, and a theory of change aimed at those in social care wishing to build research capacity and engage in partnerships with academia.
Hannah holds a PhD in Health and Organisational Research from the University of Essex, as well as an MA in Public Policy from King’s College London and a BSocSci in Politics from the University of Manchester.
