Doris is a Senior Social Work Practitioner/Practice Educator and holds a BA (Hons) in Social work and Postgraduate diploma in practice teaching as well as a Research Intern with CPEC. Previous academic qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Business Computing Systems, MBA in Business Administration. She has over 25 years of diverse experience across education, local authority and NHS working as a Business Information Analyst, Project Officer, Strategic commissioner for Adults and Children with Disabilities and hospital social worker.
Her current role is within Procurements and Contracts Team with the London Borough of Redbridge. The role focuses on mentoring community social workers, co-production with providers and project managing learning disability high-cost placements to explore where reduction and co-location can be applied. She completed NIHR Research with LSE academic partners to understand how 3Cs (Three Conversations model) is experienced by both practitioners and people seeking and receiving support.
Her work spans practice education and mentoring in social work, project management, research and evidence-based practice Doris is particularly interested in bridging the gap between research and social work practice and drive improvements in social care service delivery.
