Flagship Bilingual Publication – The Intercultural Edge
At the centre of the Hub’s work is The Intercultural Edge: Communication, Business & AI—a bilingual (English–Chinese) research briefing that brings together academic insight and real-world application. Each issue focuses on a theme aligned with our three pillars: intercultural communication, global business, and AI. Featuring editorials, case studies, data spotlights, and expert commentary, the publication serves as a bridge between scholarship and practice, offering accessible, authoritative analysis for executives, policymakers, educators, and researchers.
Visiting Research Fellows Programme
The Hub hosts a vibrant Visiting Fellows Programme that welcomes scholars, practitioners, and industry leaders from around the world. Fellows spend from a few weeks to several months at CIBL engaging in independent research, contributing to the Hub’s publications, delivering guest lectures, and collaborating with our faculty and students. This programme expands the Hub’s global reach and ensures a continuous exchange of ideas across disciplines and regions.
Annual Conference
Our Annual Conference is the Hub’s flagship gathering — a high-profile event bringing together leading academics, business executives, policymakers, and technology innovators. Each year, the conference centres on a timely theme at the intersection of culture, business, and AI, offering keynote lectures, panel discussions, roundtable dialogues, and practitioner masterclasses. It serves as a space for global dialogue, showcasing cutting-edge research and fostering new collaborations across institutions and industries.
Regular Seminars and Research Working Groups
Throughout the year, the Hub runs a dynamic programme of seminars, workshops, and research working groups. These sessions provide opportunities for scholars, doctoral students, and industry partners to present ongoing work, discuss emerging evidence, and refine ideas in a supportive and intellectually rich environment. Seminar themes reflect the Hub’s core pillars—from politeness in digital communication, to AI cultural competence, to leadership in cross-border business contexts. Many sessions are open to the wider public, strengthening the Hub’s role as a knowledge-sharing platform.
Collaborative Projects and Industry Partnerships
The Hub actively develops joint research initiatives with universities, think tanks, multinational companies, and AI developers. These collaborations generate applied research outputs, policy briefings, training materials, and innovative tools that support organisations navigating cross-cultural challenges in an era of digital transformation. Our partnerships with institutions such as Tsinghua University ensure that the Hub remains globally connected and future-focused.
