About me

Deema is currently an LSE Fellow in the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science where she teaches on the BSc Psychological and Behavioural Science programme.

Deema obtained her PhD at Queen Mary University of London where she was supervised by Dr Isabelle Mareschal. Deema’s research examined contextual effects on person perception, specifically how the presence of other people influences judgments of an individual face either viewed directly (foveally) or not (peripherally). This research explored how different facial characteristics (age, emotional expression, eye gaze, familiarity etc.) are percieved in different social and visual contexts.
