LSE Generate, the School’s hub for entrepreneurship and supporting start-ups, has launched an International Chapter in Berlin marking its third European Chapter and 20th overall. Germany is home to over 500 LSE founders with many residing in Berlin, which continues to thrive as a tech hub.
The launch, in conjunction with partner Clubhouse, played host to almost 100 LSE alumni and industry-leading innovators who enjoyed a lively discussion on what Europe can do to attract and retain founders and the opportunities and challenges of setting up an impact alliance to engage social businesses that will no longer be supported in the US under Trump. The panel featured alumni experts André Wilkens (co-founder, European Council on Foreign Relations) Melina Sanchez Montanes (Climate VC, AENU) alongside Flink co-founder and unicorn entrepreneur Saad Saeed and was moderated by Marcela Mogilska (founder, Radia).
Commenting on the new chapter, LJ Silverman, Head of LSE Generate, said: "We are thrilled to launch LSE Berlin, a really pivotal initiative that highlights our commitment to empowering entrepreneurs in one of Europe’s most dynamic cities. Berlin’s vibrant culture of innovation and creativity perfectly aligns with our mission to support visionary thinkers worldwide, fostering an inclusive ecosystem where transformative ideas can flourish and make a lasting impact."
Future plans for the chapter include partnering with local corporate and academic partners to educate, connect and inspire the LSE community in Berlin.
International Chapters can be found all over the world, including in Paris and Lisbon as well as the newly launched Southeast Asia cluster for the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia.
