Izzi is a PhD candidate in Demography (Social/Formal) supervised by Dr Arjan Gjonça and Dr Neil Cummins. Her ESRC-funded doctoral research is in historical demography, focusing on health and mortality transitions.
Izzi has a BA (Hons) Geography (First Class, 2019) from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Health and International Development (Distinction, 2020) and MSc in Social Research Methods (Distinction, 2022) both from the LSE.
She held a Population Investigation Committee (PIC) Masters studentship in population studies during her first MSc. In 2021 Izzi received the British Society for Population Studies (BSPS) Masters Dissertation prize for her dissertation ‘Challenging the assumption of linearity in the epidemiological transition of historical England and Wales’.
She was previously Research Apprentice (2020-21) and subsequently Research Officer (2021-22) at the Wales Centre for Public Policy hosted at Cardiff University.
