About me

Saide is an LSE Fellow in Qualitative Methods whose research interrogates the socio-material politics of data and knowledge in contexts of gender-based violence, human rights, and social justice. Grounded in Sociology and shaped by an interdisciplinary background in Communications (BA) and Global Studies (MA), her work examines how power, knowledge, and truth are entangled in conditions of inequality. Her doctoral research at the University of Cambridge analysed feminicide data practices in Mexico, tracing how data on gender-based killings are mobilised across institutional and grassroots settings. Using a relational and collaborative design, the project combined interviews, participatory action research, interface analysis, and autoethnography to demonstrate that feminicide is not only a crisis of gendered violence but also a crisis of knowledge—raising questions of whose deaths are counted, whose are erased, and how infrastructures render violence visible or invisible.

Saide’s methodological approach, grounded in feminist scholarship, conceives of methods as interventions that actively shape what can be known. She develops critical, reflexive, relational, and situated practices that interrogate power, embrace ambiguity and multiplicity, and foreground positionality and care. Her research includes collaborative projects that explore the use of digital tools for human-rights advocacy and reimagine data practices for social accountability. Alongside this, Saide has taught qualitative methods and research design in diverse international contexts. Her pedagogy is student-centred and critically engaged, creating learning environments that connect methodological rigour with reflexivity, inclusivity, and social impact.
