In this lecture, Irina Bokova will explore the challenges of an increasingly turbulent world, and the role of the United Nations and international organisations in sustaining a rules-based international order and strengthening effective global governance.
Irina Bokova (@IrinaBokova) has been the Director-General of UNESCO since 15 November 2009, and was successfully re-elected for a second term in 2013. She is the first woman and the first Eastern European to lead the organisation.
Professor Michael Cox is Director of LSE IDEAS and Emeritus Professor of International Relations at LSE.
