Russia’s aggression in Ukraine and the rise of ISIL has brought the issue of European security to the forefront. Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Edgars Rinkevics, explains the threats from the Baltic viewpoint.

Edgars Rinkevics (@edgarsrinkevics) is Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, a position he has held since 2011. Previously he was the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Defence and Head of the President’s Chancery. 

The LSE European Institute (@LSEEI) was established in 1991 as a dedicated centre for the interdisciplinary study of processes of integration and fragmentation within Europe. In the most recent national Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014) the Institute was ranked first for research in its sector.

For delegates who wish to obtain a CPD Certificate of Attendance, it is the responsibility of delegates to register their details with a LSE steward at the end of the event and as of 1 September 2014 a certificate will be sent within 28 days of the date of the event attended by the CPD Certification Service.  If a delegate fails to register their details at the event, it will not prove possible to issue a certificate.
