Support outside of term

• The last day of Winter Term is Thursday 28 March. We will then be in the Spring Break which runs Friday 29 March to Friday 26 April inclusive.
• Spring Term begins on Monday 29 April.
• The School Closure Period will be Friday 29 March to Friday 5 April inclusive. The School will open again on Monday 8 April. Staff do not work during the School Closure Period.
• Full information about campus access during the break is available here. 

• Assessment queries: MSc Students with queries relating to assessed work during the break can email Media.Assessment@lse.ac.uk with their questions and these will be forwarded to a member of faculty on duty who will be able to assist. Please do not email individual members of academic staff with your queries.
• Submission of assessed work: For full information on submission deadlines, formatting, citation styles and submission procedures please refer to the Assessment and Feedback webpage. Please also check the Moodle page for your individual course.
• Extensions: If you face unforeseen difficulties, you may apply for an extension for summative coursework for MC courses on the following webpage. Please note the extension webform will open in April.
• Exams: The Spring Exam Period will take place between Tuesday 7 May and Friday 14 June 2024 inclusive. See here for more information on the LSE exam timetable.
• Working in Departmental spaces: MSc students studying in the Department are welcome to come to Departmental space space to work in outside of term. The Silverstone Room and Student Common Room are both free to use, however, please see the "School closure and access to campus" section above for information about building closure times/dates and heating policy.
• Check LSE LIFE's full guide to study resources ahead of your assessments.
• The Digital Skills Lab have lots of self-study resources available - visit the Digital Skills Lab course catalogue.
• Find Library resources and tools to support your studies, and access information about Library workshops on Moodle. You can check library opening hours online. 
• Access LSE LIFE slides, worksheets and activities on Moodle. LSE LIFE will reopen on Thursday 13 April. Book a one-to-one appointment on the Student Hub, or find out about upcoming workshops.

Wherever you will be spending the break, we understand that you may need advice and support. Key services to take note of:

• The LSE Wellbeing support over the break webpage lists the support available to all students, as well as suggestions about what you can do during the break.
• Wherever you are in the world, you can access LSE’s 24/7 mental health support line by phone, live chat, SMS, and WhatsApp. This is available throughout the break.
• The Student Wellbeing Service, including counsellors and mental health advisors, remains open during the break. If you require urgent assistance, or are worried about someone close to you, please visit our emergencies / suicide prevention and support webpage for advice.
• If you need to access medical care in the UK, visit the NHS services webpage to find local GP, Urgent Care, Hospital and Dentist provision. If there is a medical emergency, dial 999 and ask for an ambulance.
• If you’re staying in residences over the break, your hall wellbeing teams are available and can be contacted via the Contacts in halls of residence webpage. 
• Student Peer Supporters are available and running activities over the break – take a look at their webpage to get involved.
• Finally, from help with your studies, health and wellbeing support, and more there’s lots of information and guidance in the LSE Support Map available via the Student Hub.
• Browse the Students@LSE blog for ideas for exploring London (and beyond)  
• Take advantage of discounts around campus, and read advice from the LSE community about budgeting. More information about the cost of living and financial support is available online.
