What's your current job?

In 2012 I started a digital marketing company, Social Beat. In less than 3 years we have become a leading agency with a team of 35 digital marketing professionals & over 100 clients across the world. We are a certified Google Partner & have been recognised as an innovative company by CMO Council Asia & Brand Academy. In 2015, I started my 2nd venture, Influencer which is one of the largest influencer marketing network in India. It is a SAAS platform which allows brands to connect with the influencers.

Where have you worked previously?

After returning back from the UK I worked for 3 years before starting out on my own. I worked in strategy & marketing at a conglomerate in India, Murugappa Group. Through them I was involved in a strategic role with the Government initiative of National Skill Development Corporation. Post that, I was at their bicycles division, as Product Head for the premium range of cycles and as head of digital marketing. I was instrumental in launching and scaling India’s first performance bicycle brand.

How has the programme helped your career since you graduated?

I learnt the basics of entrepreneurship & strategy not only through my MSc but also by leading a team at LSE to organise the International Entrepreneurs’ Challenge with 10 teams from across North America, Asia & Europe coming down to LSE to participate.

Another key takeaway has been the strong personal & professional network that I have been able to build. Moreover, I got a global exposure, which has shaped our workforce which comprises of talent from diverse backgrounds & from different parts of the world. This is how we have been able to acquire and delight clients across global markets.

What has been your greatest achievement since you graduated?

Being able to start & scale my venture has been the biggest achievement – though it has come with its highs & lows – it’s been an exciting journey.

What would you tell someone thinking of studying at the Department of Management?

It’s an amazing experience and it’s not just the pedagogy and approach to understanding key concepts, but the peer learning is very strong. The diversity of students & learning with students from other cultures & countries provides for a great platform to nurture your management & entrepreneurial skills.

What's the best piece of advice you ever received?

Just take the plunge & start something of your own.
