Making a booking and choosing your accommodation

A limited number of rooms have been reserved at two LSE's halls of residence, Bankside House and Carr Saunders, for attendees of the Tools for Macroeconomists short courses. All rooms are subject to availability and are not guaranteed, so early bookings are strongly advised. Accommodation details and information on how to book can be found below.

Booking your accommodation

To book accommodation at LSE, you will need to book directly with the LSE Vacations Team, quoting the below promotional code:

This code must be entered into the ‘Promo’ box when searching for a room. The  discount will then be applied to the available rooms.

Important booking Information

Please note that the online booking form is for attendees who require a single room during the Tools for Macroeconomists programme (28 July - 10 August 2019) only. 

If you wish to book a twin/double room and/or book outside of the dates 28 July - 10 August 2019, you will need to contact the Vacations Office directly on either +44 (0) 207 955 7676 or vacations@lse.ac.uk. Please ensure you inform the Vacations Office that you are attending the Tools for Macroeconomists programme.

Full payment via credit or debit card is required at the time of booking. If you cannot make a card payment, please contact the Vacations Office on the number above to discuss payment via bank transfer. 

The discounted rates are available only to attendees of the 2019 Tools for Macroeconomists programme.

Bankside House

Single (en-suite) are available for £61.40 per night
A single bed, wardrobe, bedside table, desk, chair and complimentary toiletries. Linen and towels are provided.

Meals and cooking facilities

  • Breakfast is included in the fees and served in the ground floor restaurant every day.
  • There are no cooking facilities at Bankside House, but you can make your own tea/coffee

Location and description

  • Distance to campus: 2.1 kilometres / 1.3miles
  • Closest Underground stations: London Bridge; Southwark

Bankside House is located in the historic borough of Southwark on the Thames’ South Bank. A walk along the river will take you to the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Tate Modern and the South Bank Arts Centre, as well as the famous Borough Market. Journey time to LSE campus is approximately 28 minutes on foot, 12 minutes by bicycle, or 25 minutes by public transport.

Single en suite rooms come with their own private toilet and shower. The extensive lower ground floor houses a quiet study area, an IT room, and a bar. Breakfast is included in the fees. 

Carr Saunders

Single standard (shared bathroom) available for £55.00 per night
The single standard room consists of one double bed, wardrobe, hand basin, desk, chair and complimentary toiletries. Linen and towels are provided. Showers and toilets are available on the same floor and are shared by approximately 12 rooms. Breakfast is included in the fees.

  • Closest Underground station: Warren Street, Euston

Carr Saunders is situated a ten minutes walk from Oxford Street, Close to Madame Tussauds and the British Museum. Perfect for a shopping trip or cultural city break. Journey time to LSE campus is approximately 28 minutes on foot, 12 minutes by bicycle, or 25 minutes by public transport. Carr-Saunders offers communal TV room with games

CANCELLATION POLICY:

You notify us a minimum of 72 hours in advance of the earliest possible check-in time (usually before 3pm 3 days prior to your planned arrival). We will refund you any monies paid to us less a cancellation fee. The cancellation fee shall equal your first night’s stay. You will be issued with a cancellation number to confirm your cancellation.

If you fail to cancel your booking within 72 hours, or cannot provide a cancellation number on request, you will be liable to pay for the full stay and not be entitled to receive any refund.
