EC451 Micro is a compulsory pre-sessional course for EC487. Students who meet the criteria listed within the application form and want to take EC487 Advanced Micro are therefore required to attend the EC451 Micro pre-sessional course instead of the Static Optimization & Fixed Points part of EC400.
During the first two days of EC451, students should assess whether they can do the exercises and then make a provisional decision about the suitability of the course; someone who learns that EC487 is not for them in the first two days can switch into EC411 by attending EC400 Static Optimization & Fixed Points thereafter. Those who are unsure and need further advice should speak to the MSc Tutor.
