What do real models at LSE look like? This panel discussion will feature LSE’s leading women.

Through a conversational discussion, this panel will discuss a range of topics pertaining to the experiences of being a woman in a position of leadership such as: navigating power structures, imposter syndrome, breaking barriers, work-life balance and career progression.

Victoria Frost is the Head of Residential Life at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to taking up this role, she was the Head of Residence Life and Student Development at the University of Essex. Victoria started her work in residence life when she was an undergraduate at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Victoria earned her Master's degree in Educational Leadership with a specialisation in Higher Education Administration from Lynn University in Florida. Victoria’s work focuses on residential community and pastoral care, emergency response and issues around gender-based violence.

Joanne Hay is Deputy Chief Operating Officer (DCOO) at LSE. She has worked at the LSE since 1995 in a number of roles including leading the Director’s office, and Manager (Strategic Planning and Resources) of the Department of Management. She took up the role of DCOO in summer 2018.

Naila Kabeer is joint professor of Gender and Development at the Departments of International Development and Gender Studies at the LSE. She is interested in research on gender and poverty in relation to labour markets, livelihoods, social protection and collective action. She is currently President of the International Association of Feminist Economists.

The EDI Office serves as a vital resource and leader in promoting and furthering LSE’s commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion for all members of its community. The EDI Office provides the delivery of services for students, academic staff, professional services staff and senior management to support diversity, inclusiveness, equal access, equitable treatment and multicultural understanding and competency.
